Barbara
Barbara has an honours degree in History, a diploma in education
and is a lecturer for NADFAS (The National Association of
Decorative and Fine Arts Societies). She is an acknowledged
expert on Windsor and since 1990, in her role as Site
Representative for the Guild of Registered Tourist Guides, has
developed close links with those who live and work at Windsor
Castle, where she is responsible for training Blue Badge Guides.

Charles
Charles is a former guardsman, who enjoyed 12 years undistinguished
service in the Household Division. He has mounted guard at both
Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, and in consequence has a
good knowledge of military history and ceremonial.
He has nearly 30 years experience of guiding in Windsor and Eton,
and is a member of the Guild of Stewards at St. George’s Chapel,
within Windsor Castle.

Hilary
Hilary Thompson managed the Modern Language Centre at Reading
University and whilst there she studied Art and Architecture. She
founded the local Blue Badge Guides association ‘Windsor Welcome’
and worked extensively for the Southern Tourist Board (now SEETB)
as a writer, tutor and examiner. Hilary is a tutor on Local History
for the WEA and has created and led walks for the prestigious Windsor
Festival on several occasions.
Hilary offers walks and talks on Windsor Castle, Reading, Henley,
Marlow, Wallingford/Dorchester the History of the Mid Thames and
Hampton Court. In Windsor she offers a popular ghost walk, a Local
Heroes tour and a ‘Young Detective’ tour for children.

Leslie
Leslie has been a Blue Badge Guide since 1981 and was Mastermind
Champion in 1981 (subjects; St. George's Chapel and Burial Grounds
of London). He was International Mastermind in 1982 (subject;
Windsor Castle) and lecturer on these and other subjects and is a
retired teacher.
He was born and brought up in Windsor and is very familiar with
the town and surrounding area, especially the Great Park, where he
lived for many years. Leslie has done specialist tours for the
Windsor Festival.

Richard
Richard worked as a qualified architect and town planner, before
becoming a tour manager working for two international companies
operating guided tours in the UK and Ireland. He qualified as a
tourist Blue Badge guide for Southern England in 2001, with
special endorsements for Windsor and Eton.
Locally Richard is particularly experienced in guiding in the
Thames Valley and Chilterns, including walks in Oxford, and the
towns of Eton, Windsor, Abingdon, Wallingford, Reading, Henley and
Marlow.
Richard also gives Adult Education lectures for Oxford University
and for the WEA and U3A on architecture , history, travel and
related topics.

Rudolph
Rudolph has been a Windsor and Eton Blue Badge Guide since 1979.
He has been a Continental Tour Manager for 10 years and is a Member
of the GB Golden Keys. He leads walking tours and also offers
horse-racing day trips and pub tours.
In addition, he speaks Catalan, French and Spanish.

Silla
Silla is a guide for both London and Windsor and has been for a
number of years, so is able to adapt any walking or sightseeing
tour to your particular needs. She particularly specialises in
Windsor Castle and town and is happy to do walking tours and coach
tours of Windsor and Eton and the surrounding area including
Maidenhead and Henley. She is also experienced in touring to
Oxford and Stratford, Bath and Stonehenge and Canterbury.
She speaks fluent French and Italian and is very happy to do day
trips with Europeans and Americans all over England.

wonderful out of the way places as well as the more famous towns and
buildings. He has specialist knowledge of the countryside, its rivers
and its heritage.
